September First Friday: Touch A Truck

First Friday September: Touch-A-Truck
Friday, September 1, 2017
6-8PM

*Right now, the weather is looking real good. Just in case, the rain date will be Friday, November 3, 2017

Cars, trucks, and vehicles of all shapes and sizes will line up on McIntosh Street  in front of the Black Heritage Plaza & Allen’s Market beside the Milledgeville Police Department in downtown Milledgeville. Heavy equipment horns will sound, first responders’ lights will flash, and the young and young at heart will have a chance to satisfy curiosity by getting up close to explore the vehicles. Some of the action-filled autos will include fire trucks, an ambulance, tractors, police cars, and “Milly” the Trolley, the only way to tour the town with the expert guides from the Convention & Visitor’s Bureau.

“This is a unique opportunity to let community members of all ages see, touch, and interact while learning about the vehicles and agencies on site,” said Carlee Schulte, Milledgeville Main Street Executive Director. “This is a free, family event everyone can enjoy and we are deeply appreciative of our event sponsors and many partners who made this event possible.”

Free face painting will be available by the talented Lisa Marie Barry to create custom designs and community organizations will have hands-on engaging activities for the kids. There will be no shortage of fun!

Allied Arts will present a concert by 120/80 Band, The Reception Band & Marilyn Jarrette. Bring a chair to kick back & enjoy everything from pop, rock & country, to R&B, 70s, 80s, and more! The concert begins at 5:30pm, at the Black Heritage Plaza beside the historic Allen’s Market building at the North Wayne & McIntosh intersection, and is free and open to the public.
