Monroe Crossing: An Evening of Bluegrass Music

Monroe Crossing will present a bluegrass concert in the historic Allen’s Market building in downtown Milledgeville. Named in honor of Bill Monroe, “The Father of Bluegrass Music,” the band entertains audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and heartfelt originals. The group plays an average of 125 shows a year at major venues and festivals, frequently for non-bluegrass audiences – and people often comment that they’d never really liked bluegrass music until they attended a Monroe Crossing concert.

Join us for a fantastical holiday-filled First Friday. From 6-8pm on December 1st, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Milly as we prepare for some city-wide yuletide. The and Milledgeville Main Street has partnered with The City of Milledgeville, Pilot Club of Milledgeville, the Local Yolkal Cafe, and Fowler Flemister Concrete, Inc. to host December’s First Friday. The annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting will kick off the event, on West Hancock St., near Local Yolkal & Firefly Boutique, at 6:00pm.
The Milledgeville Jaycees and other community organizations will provide a fa-la-la-la fun activities for the kiddos and Lisa Marie will be back with festive face paintings! Visit with Santa inside The Local Yolkal Cafe & Catch a glimpse of The Vibe Dance Center‘s upcoming performance. Downtown businesses and restaurants will have festive window displays to make the season bright & will offer special deals for holiday gift shopping.
