Women’s History Tour at Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion

Join the Mansion on International Women’s Day, Thursday, March 8th or Wednesday, March 28th at 3 pm for a Women’s History Month special tour focusing on not only the women of the Mansion during the time of the governors, but also on women’s roles in the 19th century.

This tour is at the special rate of $8 for adults/seniors, $4 for students. GC faculty, staff, and students are always free. For more information, contact the Mansion at 478-445-4545.

Downtown Milledgeville exudes history, from the historic downtown buildings and the big oak trees, to the antebellum homes and the museums. This “Celebrate our Roots” themed First Friday will be a time to explore Milledgeville’s rich history downtown from 6-8pm.

The First Friday Committee’s partnership with the Convention and Visitors Bureau and the museums will continue to offer FREE trolley rides to the museums for patrons to learn about Milledgeville history.

Visit Georgia’s Old Capital Museum for a Last Look at the museum’s current exhibits and First Glimpse of plans for The Depot: History and Culture in Central Georgia. Members of the Museum Board of Trustees will be on hand to hear stories of the museum’s 16-year history in the Old Capitol Building and to share future plans for The Depot at CSH. The museum will close its doors to the public for the last time after this event in preparation for the relocation.
