November First Friday: Touch A Truck

Friday, November 4, 2016

Cars, trucks, and vehicles of all shapes and sizes will line up in the parking lot beside the post office in downtown Milledgeville for the November First Friday Touch-A-Truck event on November 4, from 6-8pm. Heavy equipment horns will sound, first responders’ lights flash, and the young and young at heart will have a chance to satisfy curiosity by getting up close to explore the vehicles. Including everything from fire trucks, an ambulance, tractor, police cars, and “Milly” the Trolley, the only way to tour the town with the expert guides at the Convention & Visitor’s Bureau.

“This is a unique opportunity to let community members of all ages see, touch, and interact while learning about the vehicles and agencies on site,” said Carlee Schulte, Milledgeville Main Street Executive Director. “This is a free, family event everyone can enjoy and we are deeply appreciative of our event sponsor Arcadia on the River and our many partners who made this event possible including the Baldwin County Fire Department, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department, City of Milledgeville, Georgia Army National Guard, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Grady Emergency Management Services, Milledgeville Fire Department, Milledgeville Police Department & Law Enforcement Explorers Post #139, Milledgeville-Baldwin County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Southside Equipment.”

Music will liven downtown with crowd-pleasing performances from Fall Line Rambler and Carlos Toombs- One-Man Band. Allied Arts will present a free public concert by 120/80 Band at 7:30pm in the historic Allen’s Market building, located at the intersection of North Wayne & McIntosh.

Free face painting will be available by the talented Lisa Marie Barry to create custom designs. The Georgia College Chemistry Club and the City of Milledgeville FOG (Fats, Oils & Grease) Prevention representatives have just what the kids want with hands-on engaging activities. There will be no shortage of fun!
