Milledgeville’s dedication to the arts and healthy living provides for numerous cultural experiences. Recent events and performances have varied widely from watercolor painting workshops and theater performances, to Main Street’s monthly fun & festive First Friday event with live music, face painting, and activities for the young as well as young at heart. Last year, the annual Deep Roots festival was host to the Georgia Barbecue Association State Championship and the Old Capital Car Club Car Show, drawing attendance of 16,000+. Just a few of the anticipated events are the Milledgeville Film Festival, Themed Murder Mystery Dinners and Haunted Trolley Tours by the Milledgeville Players, Hometown Celebration, and Christmas Parade.
